Over the last 20 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has gained popularity as a way for consumers to buy food directly from farmers by subscribing over a season to receive fresh, local food. Likewise, Community Supported Art has the same local, direct spirit of support; it is an exciting model of sustenance to the Kansas City art community and a great opportunity for arts patrons.
PLUG Projects has developed the first CSA program in Kansas City and we’re excited to share the work of amazing local artists with you! With work by regionally and locally renowned artists, the PLUG Projects CSA is an affordable way to grow your collection.
How does it work? Each year, the local artists featured at PLUG have received commissions to create art pieces for the program. Featured works are whatever the artist would like to contribute – anything from small ceramic works, sculptures, painting, drawings and fiber arts. Each CSA share includes one piece from each of the local artists featured at PLUG during that year.
CSA shares are $350 each.
